Paul Jex Residential Valuer and Home Inspector for Nicholas J Humpreys with over five years industry experience writes on the subject of Home Information Packs (HIPs).

In the last two months the way you sell a property with three or more bedrooms has changed with the implementation of the Home Information Pack. At Nicholas J Humphreys we have always offered a prompt and professional service. However we are now pleased go a step further than any of our competitors by carrying out the energy performance certificate in house. The energy performance certificate is an integral part and legal requirement of the home information pack and the governments drive to increasing the energy efficiency of housing.  The energy performance certificate rates a property from 1 – 100, with 100 being the highest rating. The certificate will also provide a list of recommendations that could improve the efficiency of the subject property. One of the most common recommendations is to switch to energy saving light bulbs.

What benefit is there to the consumer having the energy performance certificate carried out directly by their estate agent? The simple answer is that as a qualified energy assessor and employee of Nicholas J Humphreys I will carry out the energy performance certificate as soon as you have instructed us. This means that the energy performance certificate can be displayed with your sales particulars from the moment they are produced and it will also speed up the production of the HIP.

If you are thinking of selling your property or would like any advise about home information packs please call and ask for myself Paul Jex on 01283 528020.
